Relative recurrent reminders – a practical feature in the Nozbe project management app

You no longer have to remember to remember. Thanks to Nozbe’s new relative recurrent reminders, the app will keep track of important deadlines, recurring tasks, and your overall organization — so nothing slips through the cracks in the rush of everyday work.

Reminders in Nozbe have long helped users work calmer, smarter, and without the stress of forgetting important deadlines. Now we’re introducing an enhancement to them: relative recurrent reminders. It’s a small but extremely practical feature that further improves your project and task management.

What you can use reminders for in Nozbe

In Nozbe, reminders serve several very useful purposes:

  • they let you set the start date for working on a task,
  • they send notifications ahead of time to give you room to prepare (if you’ve configured notifications in the app properly),
  • they’re a great tool for managers who want to check in on an employee’s progress exactly when needed,
  • they help when reviewing the Incoming view — if you add a comment, the task disappears from the list, but a quick click on: Remind me in an hour, this afternoon, tomorrow will make it show up again in Incoming at the right moment.

Now we’re adding something even better.

Relative recurrent reminders – what are they?

This is a new option that works for tasks with a date and recurrence. If you set a reminder not for a specific day, but relative to the deadline (Before the due date and e.g. 1 day, 2 hours), Nozbe will automatically apply it to every future occurrence of the recurring task.

How does it work in practice?

  1. You set the task’s date
  2. You enable recurrence
  3. In the Remind me field, you choose Before the due date
  4. You choose how many days/hours/minutes earlier you want the task to appear in Incoming and trigger a notification (if you have push notifications for reminders enabled)

And that’s it — every future repetition of the task will inherit this setting.

A real-life example – how to use recurrent reminders

You have a recurring task “Visit mom on her birthday” set once a year.
You add a reminder: 2 days before.

The result?

Every year, Nozbe will remind you 2 days in advance so you can buy a gift or plan the celebration. You don’t need to create new reminders — the system will handle it automatically.

Where tasks with reminders appear

Tasks with a reminder at a specific time:

  • show up in the Incoming view exactly when you need them,
  • are visible in the Nozbe calendar,
  • also appear in Google Calendar or Outlook if you have an active integration.

This makes Nozbe, as a project and task management app, your central workspace — helping not only organize tasks but also build a real sense of control and peace of mind.

Why this feature improves productivity at work

  • it reduces the risk of forgetting recurring responsibilities,
  • it makes it easier to prepare for important deadlines ahead of time,
  • it saves time — you set it once, and Nozbe handles the rest,
  • it strengthens consistency in recurring tasks,
  • it fits perfectly into workflows related to project management in small and medium-sized businesses.

It’s a small feature that makes a big difference in everyday organization.

If you already use reminders, this new option will make your work even smoother and more organized. And if you’re just getting to know Nozbe, this is another step toward making your project management simple, calm, and truly effective.
