Comments in Nozbe are the heart of your team communication.
This is where you share progress on tasks, exchange ideas, attach files and links – and sometimes even short videos (up to 200 MB). Thanks to comments, teamwork becomes more transparent, and decisions get made faster. They’re a key part of communication through tasks.

Now, comments in Nozbe just got even better. In addition to the often-overlooked Markdown text formatting feature, we’ve added a preview option before posting and the ability to watch videos directly within the app.
These features have a real impact on your productivity and comfort at work.

Markdown – formatting that makes a difference

Not every comment has to be a dull block of text. Markdown lets you:

bold or italicize text,
create bulleted or numbered lists,
add headings and quotes,
insert links or code snippets.

This makes your comments clear and well-structured, helping your team quickly spot what’s most important.

Here are some of the most useful Markdown formats:

use ** to make text **bold**
use * or _ to write _italic_
use #, ## for headings
use ~~ to ~~strike through~~ text
use backticks for code
and lines: (***, ___, — or * * *)

Before posting your comment, you can open a Preview – a real-time look at how your comment will appear.
If something needs tweaking, you can easily switch back to edit mode. Below the preview, you’ll also find a link to Nozbe Help, where you’ll see a full Markdown formatting guide.

Example: instead of writing “Please review this document and share your feedback,” you can bold “Please review this document” and add a link or attachment – your comment instantly becomes clearer.

Videos in comments – watch without distractions

Adding a YouTube or Vimeo link? Or attaching a video file? You can now watch it without leaving Nozbe.

Why does it matter for productivity?

Stay in context. No need to open a browser or another app.
No distractions. No recommendations, no endless scrolling.
Your algorithm stays safe. Videos played in Nozbe don’t affect your YouTube recommendations.
On mobile devices, videos open directly in the app – no redirects.

Team example: you attach a short tutorial video to the task “New client presentation” – everyone can watch it right inside Nozbe, keeping the discussion and resources in one place.

Tips and tricks – make the most of comments

Combine text and video – add a short explanation, use bold text to highlight key parts, and include a video or screen recording for context.
Quote important parts – use > in Markdown to quote someone’s message.
Task list in comments – create checklists, bulleted or numbered lists to track progress and next steps.
Check the preview – before posting, always see how your comment will look. A small step that saves a lot of confusion later.
